Dr. Victor Mak is a distinguished Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urologic Surgery. He holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto and is recognized as a Clinician Investigator by the Royal College. Dr. Mak is among a select group of Canadian urologists with advanced fellowship training in male reproduction, andrology, sexual function, and microsurgery of the genitourinary tract.
His extensive research is published in leading international clinical and basic science journals. Previously, Dr. Mak served as an Assistant Professor and Surgeon-Scientist in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery, at the University of Toronto. He is an active member of the Canadian Urological Association Guidelines Committee for the investigation and management of azoospermia and is recognized by the Canadian Urological Association and the Canadian Urologic Oncology Group as a Prostate Cancer Leader.
Currently, Dr. Mak chairs the Multi-disciplinary Cancer Conference Disease Site in Uro-oncology and the LASER Committee. He served as Chief of Urology in the Department of Surgery at Mackenzie Health from 2007 to 2017 and is the Cancer Care Ontario Prostate Champion for the Central Local Health Integration Network. Additionally, he provides expert consultation as a Urologist for the Mon Sheong Long-Term Care Facility in Richmond Hill.
In July 2016, Dr. Mak led a surgical team during a short-term medical mission in a remote Kenyan village, demonstrating his commitment to global health. He also serves on the Editorial Board of The Bio Accent Journal of Urology and Nephrology.
